Hello there. The text is from an ESL textbook, as part of the UK English Programme series, which was not written by English-speaking writers, so I think there remain several phrases which sound not natural to you. If so, please feel free to change them.
My students are in their 4th grade. Could you help me make two separate recordings for the text – one at your normal/natural speed, and the other at your slow speed?
I think the recording with your normal speed will be useful to their listening practice since it will be challenging enough, and hopefully they will not be bored! Meanwhile, the recording with your slow one will help them differentiate different sounds, and thereby enable them to copy your pronunciation easily.
Thank you in advance!
Hello, Grandpa! Do you want to watch a film with me?
Good idea! I love watching films at home. When I was young, we didn’t have DVDs and DVD players. We had to go to the cinema to watch films.
What did you do when you had free time?
When I was five years old, your great grandmother bought me a bike. I rode my bike when I had free time.
Hi Wende. Could you please help me record the dialogue again? The reason is that yesterday, I found that the version of my students' books is different from mine. In the first edition, the book says, "Hey, Grandpa! Do you want to watch a film with me?". But now, the sentence is changed into "Hello, Grandpa!..." I think this new version is more appropriate than the original one.
