The Second World War created a new generation determined to build a better world.
The 1948 Olympic Games in London, the Festival of Britain in 1951
and the coronation in 1953 all gave a sense of the begining of a new age.
Cities were changing with new modernist buildings springing up,
like Basil Spenser's replacement for the Coventry Cathederal.
It took 10 years to build and was finally opened in 1961.
By 1960, British culture included television, Angry Young Men
and rock'n'roll and looked very different to the way it had before the war.
