Global warming is the increase of temperature of Earth's surface , oceans and atmosphere.
Among the greenhouse gases, the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the main cause of global warming. When people burn fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas, this adds carbon dioxide into the air. This is because fossil fuels contain lots of carbon.
When people cut down many trees , this means less carbon dioxide is taken out of the atmosphere by those plants and yet people have destroyed large parts of the Amazon rainforest , the lung of the Earth...
The most noticeable change because of this increase in temperature is the melting of the ice cap. As a consequence , the sea level has risen steadily.
As the Earth's surface temperature becomes hotter, the sea level becomes higher. The rise of sea level has caused coastal areas to flood. The weather has changed too, there are more and more droughts and natural catastrophes...
Deserts have increased in size. It is getting more difficult to grow plants and vegetables and to produce food.
