Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling. The books tell about the adventures of the adolescent wizard Harry Potter, together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his friends from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the books Harry fights againts the evil wizard Lord Voldemort. He killed Harry's parents and he wants to conquer the wizarding world and the muggles' world.
Muggles are the non-magical humans.
Since 1997 these novels have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success. The books have sold over 400 million copies and have been translated into 67 languages.
The novels have also been made into a series of films by Warner Bros and they have been very successful! The series also originated much merchandise, like video games and a lot of different Harry Potter products.
