Note to recorder:

Normal speed, it is a story to be read to my 12-year-old students, thank you so much.

Pele was the goddess of the fire and volcanoes and she was beautiful. Her older sister Namaka was the goddess of the sea. The two sisters were very different. Pele ruled over the volcanoes of the island of Hawaii and Namaka ruled over the cool majestic waves of the ocean. Namaka was married to a powerful sorcerer but he fell in love with Pele. Namaka became enraged.
Namaka sent tsunami waves to destroy Pele's home. Pele escaped on a canoe and tried to hide from her sister on different islands. She created volcanoes and hid inside them, but they sent smoke signals and Namaka kept attacking her.
Pele finally settled on a Hawaiian island. Namaka found her and they engaged in a long battle. Namaka killed her sister and hid her bones under a volcano that is still active under the ocean. The place is called the Bones of Pele.
