Students at Walker University eat their meals in the university cafeteria. They get three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
On Sundays, the students get two meals. One is brunch. This is a big meal which is breakfast and lunch together. They can also have supper. This is another word for the last meal of the day.
Of course, the students get hungry more than three times a day. If they want something to eat between meals, they can have a snack or a bite to eat. They might eat an apple, a cookie, or a piece of candy. This Saturday, Walker University is having a picnic. The cafeteria will serve sandwiches, drinks, and cherry pie outside under some trees. On Sunday, there will be a barbecue. At this cookout, the students will cook hotdogs and hamburgers on a grill outside.
During the semester, some student clubs have potlucks. Everybody brings food to share. Potlucks are interesting because people can try different kinds of food.
At the end of the year, there are special events which include a meal. There is a banquet for honor students. waiters and waitresses serve the food.
The president of the university has a buffet for the professors. The food is put on long tables, and people serve themselves.
