Why did you choose your major?
There are hundreds and hundreds of professions to choose from. It was a really difficult question for me to decide which specialty to choose. However, I chose to obtain a degree in electronics, because it sounded challenging and interesting. Also, even in childhood I wondered (or I used to wonder) how electronic devices work. We can't see electricity or how electrons move, but our present lives depend on it. I am going to give some reasons why I chose my major.
1. Wide choice of jobs where I can work
Electronics engineers are very important to society and there will always be a large demand for them (electronics engineers) on the job market. Specialists in this branch can work in various fields such as: electronics, aerospace, telecommunication, defence industry, construction industry, computers and networks, the automotive field and others.
2. Possibility to get knowledge online
There are many books, magazines, articles related to electronics on the internet. Also, many universities and colleges including Stanford, Yale, Oxford, and Harvard offer free online courses and programs.
You can get all it using only a computer connected to the internet.
3. Do It Yourself
"Do it yourself" is one of the more exciting reasons why I chose electronics. When you know the basic principles of working electrical and electronic equipment, you can make the devices that you need on your own. It's not always cheaper to do so, although in some solutions it will save you a great deal of money, but it works as you want it to work.
DIY creations are unlimited. If you have many ideas you can make them real.
4. New stuff gets out all the time
Electrical and electronic components are modified, invented and reinvented every day, so you will never be bored from using the same process or component for the last several years. New and exciting stuff is available all the time.
Today, I am happy that I made this decision.
pashers, Thank you very much for your recording and correction.
