If I could recommend you a perfect holiday abroad you should choose Finland and Lapland (the northern part of Finland).
I have been in Finland since last July; that means almost the whole year! I can really confirm that Finland is a beautiful country; there are lot of lakes and forests.
That is a reason why Finland is called "Country of a thousand lakes". I have been twice to Lapland such as in summer and winter. We spent a week there during the winter. You can see the Northern lights as well as beautiful colors in the sky. There are many activities to choose from for example visiting an Arctic museum in Rovaniemi, actually Rovaniemi is called, A heard of Lapland,. It is also situated close to the Arctic Circle. That is a favourite area for tourists. There is Santa Claus' cottage and Santa´s foundation was in Rovaniemi. One of the most popular attractions are huskies trips, dogs run with sleds, the journey goes through forests and covered areas of snow. If you like going hiking, you can take snowshoes and enjoy hiking in nature. As you know, Finland is known as the home of saunas. Saunas are everywhere. It is common to go inside the sauna and then if you want to cool off you can go to a lake. Of course the lake is frozen in winter, but in the ice there is a hole and it is an opportunity to check out everyday life in Finland.
Finally I would like to compare the size of the two countries. The area of Finland is 4,3 times higher than the Czech Republic.
