He was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in April 1564 and died there in 1616.
He married Anne Hathaway and had 3 children. He went to London at the age of 25. Between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career as an actor and writer. He owned 2 companies: the King’s Men & the Chamberlain’s Men. In 1599 was the opening of his own theatre “the Globe“.
He is regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. He wrote 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and 2 long narrative poems.
