He is king of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. The eldest son of Elizabeth II, he took the throne upon her death in 2022.
He then attended the Royal Air Force College (becoming an excellent flier) and the Royal Naval College. On July 29, 1981, he married Lady Diana Spencer. They had two sons but finally got divorced in 1996. The couple’s first child, Prince William of Wales, became second in line of succession to the throne. He has always enjoyed sports, especially polo, which he played as a young man. He married his first love, Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005.
