「おせち料理」 - A Downside of "お正月"

Do you know of "おせち料理"?
「おせち料理」をご存知でしょうか。

Japanese eat it on "元旦", the morning of New Year’s Day.
日本人は元旦にそれらを食します。

There is too much of it to eat on "元旦" so we have to continue eating it for several days afterwards.
それらは元旦に食べきるには多すぎるため、数日間に亘って食べ続けざるを得ません。

This is because once upon a time all shops were closed over "三が日", the first three days of the New Year, and so" お節" had to be specially made so as not to go off.
それは、かつては三が日に商店がすべて閉まってしまうことから、お節料理が保存食として作られていたためです。

I get tired of eating it every year.
毎年、私はお節料理に飽きてしまいます。
