'Sixth' is ok, but 'sixths' is a bit of a tongue twister, even for a native speaker. You can avoid it by saying 'five out of six students...'.

When speaking at normal speed, the 'x' sound and the 'ths' sound are kind of blended together. However, I emphasized the 'ths' sound after the sentence.
