(Intro)
Ellen: We have had a lot of fun over the years with our next guest, take a look.
(Flashback)
E: Our next guest has had the number one album on the country charts for a record of ten weeks in a row, please welcome Taylor Swift.
(Change scene)
E: Your musical crush, someone in the business?
Taylor: Oh, Justin Timberlake.
E: Justin Timberlake is your favorite?
T: Yea.
E: Justin!
T: That’s the best surprise ever, this is the best day ever!
E: Yea.
Justin: Haha, that’s great.
(Change scene)
E: Finish the statement: I am Taylor blank.
T: I think, just birth certificate wise, it is Swift.
E: Like I am Ellen blank, I am Ellen DeGeneres. I am Ellen DeGeneres and I am married to Portia de Rossi. I am Taylor Swift and I am dating blank.
T: Nobody. That’s, that’s true though.
E: I am Taylor Swift and my publicists told me to say blank.
T: My publicists told me not to answer any personal questions.
E: Now we’re getting somewhere.
(Change scene)
E: Kitty corner is a show for people who love cats.
T: I will answer your questions about cats.
E: Yea.
T: You can call us with your questions.
E: We can call it ‘cat calls’.
T: Or ‘look what the cat called in’.
(Change scene)
T singing with guy: Every single I come on this show, it’s really weird, really weird
Guy: All because of Ellen.
T: I’ve been on this show eight times now and I still remember Ellen hiding in a bathroom with a hidden camera and she scared me so bad that I fell and I coulda (could of) died.
(Finished singing and change scene)
E: Taylor! Taylor!
(Change scene)
(Unintelligible)
T: Oh, why would you do that!
(Change scene)
E: Up in the air.
T: Being on Ellen’s show is one of the be…
E: Monotone, like that.
T: Being on Ellen’s show is one of the best experiences you can have.
E: Now laugh in a monotone way.
T: hahahahaha
E: yes.
(End of intro)

by bobster234 2:35 - 3:16

T: That was an amazing montage.
E: I know. And that's, that's. No, no-one is in there. We're not going to do it to you today.
T: It's not amateur hour.
E:No, no, I'm not gonna. Your ... because I can top how I did it the first time. You were the best scare ... well Sarah Pulson was pretty good too.
T: But that was a near death experience.
E: It kinda was. You went down.
T: Yeah ...
E: Were there injuries?
T: There were several of ways I could have died.
E: well now you are being dramatic.
T: Yeah
E: Yeah. No that's extreme.
T: Yeah. It's. I really .. just was watching that backstage and I was just thinking like thank so much for going so much above and beyond to make people happy.
E: That's not a good example.
T: No, No

by CatSchriber 3:16 - 5:27

T: Yea. But, it, it’s. I really just was watching that backstage and I was just thinking, like, ‘thank you so much for going so above and beyond to make people happy’.
E: Oh.
T: And yea, well, that’s not a good example of it.
E: No, no.
T: But.
E: you could of hit your head on toilet bowl.
T: It was funny afterward, you did this laugh afterward that I have found have found myself, I loved the sound so much that I found myself doing it sometimes when I laugh hard enough. You went (laugh sound). You went (laugh sound). Like you couldn’t breathe.
E: Uh-hah, that’s how happy I was.
T: That’s how happy you were to see me fall down like that.
E: Yea, yes, yes. And now you do it too, you said.
T: It’s, it’s caught on.
E: Yup.
T: It’s a great sound. If you’ll, if you go back and watch it on YouTube, listen for her laugh, and then who will be the one that’s embarrassed? Not the one on the ground.
E: Keep in mind that you haven’t been here in four, no, how long has it been?
T: Yea, four years, I was recovering from the fall.
E: No, no, no. But, but look at all the content we had and you haven't been here in four years, you’d think you would come because you had so much fun.
T: I know, and now I have.
E: Okay, and now you have come back.
T: Yea, I have come back.
E: Yes.
T: I mean, I had an album out call ‘Reputation.’
E: I know.
T: And I really… (Crowd cheers). You guys, you guys are friendly. Um, yea, with the album I just basically wanted to just make music and not explain it.
E: Yea.
T: Um, but I missed you so much.
E: It worked out.
T: It was really, it’s…
E: You still sold a bunch of albums without even talking. I mean, usually people go to promote their music because it helps sell albums, you don’t have to do that.
T: Well, that’s nice of you to say.
E: It’s true.
T: I mean, I, I am having fun being back here, it’s been really great to be back here and like, I defiantly do, I think as a song writer I enjoy communicating about what I have made, like, I really do like that part of the process. But I also just feel like with my career, I want to do what feels right at the time.
E: Yea.
T: You know, like, so, it just. At that time I, I coined this phrase ‘there will be no explanation, there will just be reputation,’ because I am dramatic.
E: Yes.
T: That is a very dramatic thing, but it rhymed, it was kind of catchy, and I.
E: Yea.
T: And so I stuck with it.
E: Right. Is that in one of your songs? Because if it isn’t, it should be.
T: Thank you, no, and I think it’s a little late for that because now we are onto, like, another different album.
E: I know. But you could still have that.
T: For the n… For an album that’s not reputation?
E: Yea.

by CatSchriber 5:27 - 8:00

T: It’s a little off brand.
E: No, no.
T: But I will think about it.
E: No, just like clothing comes back in style, you can come right back around to that topic again if you’d like.
T: It could be like a vintage.
E: You could do anything you want, Taylor Swift.
T: Thank you for saying that.
E: You know, you. I mean, really, people, people thought ‘oh god, she’s been away for so long, how is this album going to do?’ and they put so much, I don’t think ‘pressure on you,’ cause I don’t think you felt pressure.
T: Yea, there’s pressure.
E: Really?
T: Yea, for sure.
E: Oh, okay. But, because it seemed like, people were like expecting this not to be as, as good, or that album not to be as… and you just came back and proved them all wrong.
T: Oww.
E: You know? It’s true.
T: Thanks.
E: Because you didn’t, you didn’t worry about how certain people do things. You do things your own way and, and it all works out for you.
T: Thank you so much.
E: You’re welcome.
T: Ow.
E: Now let’s talk about me. Um… No, not talking about me. But, so these, ah, these here. Let’s talk about, you’re on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.
T: Oh yea.
E: You have all these Easter eggs on here, right?
T: Yea, yea, and I feel like…
E: Explain what the eggs are to people who don’t understand what they are.
T: Yea, cause I think it’s, I think that is necessary. So, it’s like, when we say ‘Easter eggs,’ we’re not only talking about, like, Easter eggs that you would go on an Easter egg hunt for on Easter. It’s like, it’s kind of a, like a, it’s kind of like a clue, like a foreshadowing kind of thing. I like to plant Easter eggs in a video, like, that will be like a lyric from unreleased music, or like a little hint, or a little link to what’s coming in the future.
E: Right.
T: Um… So yea, like, that was kind of the theme of what we did the Entertainment Weekly thing on, and it’s just been really fun to kind of expand the musical experience past just listening to a song. Like, I also want people to be, like, watching the music video and ‘what’s that thing in the background?’ and ‘what’s that song playing underneath there?’ and ‘what’s, what’s, there’s a reason she said that in in French.’ So…
E: Right. Because people, and, and usually your fans are pretty good as figuring it out, right?
T: They’re excellent at figuring it out.
E: What is the worst, what is, how far off have they been? What’s the worst they’ve been?
T: Oh man… Um… Well… There were some fans that thought I had something to do with Avengers: Endgame.
E: Oh, really?
T: Which I would, which I would’ve loved to have been asked, but I wasn’t.
E: No, you weren’t.
T: Asked to be in at all.
E: Yea.
T: Because we had the single coming out the same day, and I have a song that was called ‘Endgame.’ And so they were like ‘oh my god, she’s going to defeat Thanos’ and…
E: Right.
T: I let everyone down.
E: Yea, yea.
T: Again.
E: That’s, well, that was confusing.

by cgsnie1 8:00 - 14:41

E: On our jacket, you have a lot of things on here but you don’t have something that – next time you wear a jacket…that’s…
T: Thank you.
E: You’re welcome.
T: It’s you as a kitty cat.
E: Yeah, and that’s two things you love.
T: Those are the two things I love the most, in the world.
E: Together. Put together.
T: Yeah.
E: Alright, we have to take a break.
T: Thank you.
E: I’ll let you cry about that.
T: Mmm hmm.
E: We’ll be back.

E: We’re back with Taylor Swift who was just telling me about washing her legs in the shower. I couldn’t hear you. Did you say you do wash them or you don’t?
T: I do ‘cuz when you shave your legs, isn’t – the shaving cream is like soap, right?
E: That’s…yeah. It is. That is– I think that’s the reason that most women wash their legs because we have to because we shave our legs.
T: Yeah.
E: Yep.
T: So that counts as…yeah.
E: Oh for sure. It’s uh…
T: I’m on the right side of history then.
E: Unless you’re not shaving and then – then you’re not washing. So whenever you’re not shaving you don’t wash, you’re saying.
T: No, I don’t, I don’t think I would say that.
E: Well it seems like, it seems like you did just say it.
T: But I kind of always shave my legs.
E: Every day?
T: I mean yeah.
E: Every day?
T: Yeah.
E: God you must be hairy. Alright, so, let’s talk about–
T: So sweet.
E: I don’t know why you don’t come here more often. Alright let’s talk about “Me”, we were just playing it during the commercial break, which— I love that song, I love that video so much.
T: Thank you.
E: That must have been so fun to shoot.
T: It was so fun. That’s actually, um…
E: Is that your new kitten?
T: That’s my new kitten Benjamin.
E: Wait, did—first of all let’s finish talking about the video, ‘cuz it’s so good. Brendon Urie, right? Is that his last name?
T: Brendon Urie is one of the most incredible performers.
E: From Panic at the Disco. Yeah, he is amazing. I love that y’all were together in that.
T: Oh yeah, he does this little dance that he has coming up. He already did it, but all his little dances are like…that! Look at him! He’s just like-- he would raise the energy in any situation, like…
E: I love him.
T: He was just amazing.
E: Alright, we’re gonna get to the kitten in a minute, but, did the speaking French in the beginning of it, does that mean something?
T: Yeah, definitely.
E: Ok. Did you know French already or did you learn it for that?
T: I’ve tried to learn French several times in my life because I think it’s a really beautiful language.
E: It is beautiful.
T: And I definitely made sure that I had native French speakers on set. Because I didn’t want to butcher the language of love. Like, that’s not what I came here to do.
E: Say something in French right now.
T: Um, you’re putting me on the spot, but, I mean, Je suis calme.
E: Ah, thank you.
T: I don’t know.
E: What does that mean?
T: It means “I am calm.”
E: Oh.
T: Uh… Je ne peux pas te parler quand t’es comme ça.
E: That’s good. That’s a good one. I don’t know what that means but that sounded real French.
T: It means I love cats.
E: Alright, so…ok so let’s talk about cats.
T: No it doesn’t.
E: So was that kitten— it doesn’t. So was that kitten just there to be in the video or did— and then you took it home? Or did you put it in the video and it was yours already?
T: He was a little cat actor. He was there— apparently there was— I didn’t know this at the time. All I know is there’s— we had to have a kitten in the scene because I wanted to have this scene where it’s like, you know, he gives me a ring, I’m like “No.” He gives me flowers, I’m like “No.” And then he gives me a kitten and I’m like “Yes, absolutely. You know me clearly.” And so, you know, they show up with this little kitten, and the— his handler was like, “Do you want to hold him first?” I was like, “Absolutely I do!” And so they hand me this tiny cat and I’ve never really experienced a cat that the second I held this little kitten he started purring like a motor. And I was like, “Ok, whose cat is this. You’re really lucky whoever owns this cat.” And the girl was like, “Actually he doesn’t have a home.” And then just, my eyes turned into hearts.
E: Yeah.
T: And I, I just immediately was like, “I—I—I can’t think about anything else.”
E: And so how did the other two get along. You can’t just bring a cat home. Cat’s don’t— they’re not like that.
T: They’re like little puff balls getting in a fight. It’s like marshmallows throwing each other at like, its—
E: Oh, oh, that’s good then. And his name is Benjamin…
T: Benjamin Button.
E: Mmm hmm, that’s right.
T: ecause it’s an incredible movie.
E: Yes, it is.
T: It’s an incredible film.
E: He ages backwards.
T: Yeah.
E: Alright so. We’re back with the only person who loves cats possibly as much as I do, or more. But I think we—
T: I don’t want to get into a fight about it.
E: No but…no we both love cats, let’s just leave it at that. Alright, Taylor Swift is who I was talking about. Ok so, there’s video of your other two cats on the plane I think. Is that what we have?
T: I think it’s just a picture but it’s a good demonstration of like… just what my personal life looks like. Well that’s—I mean that’s just Olivia stretching.
E: That’s just…
T: That’s my middle child, yeah. She’s kind of like a seal.
E: And she just lays on her back? Oh my god!
T: Isn’t she amazing? And her tail just never grew.
E: Oh my god.
T: And then she stands up. Here’s “meercat.” Get it. She’s a really special animal. And that was when she was a baby.
E: Oh my god. They’re just so cute.
T: I got good ones.
E: And now— so you would be— and you’re doing a movie, “Cats.” So you probably have a, you know, an advantage because you probably act more like—
T: I understand them.
E: Yes.
T: Yeah.
E: Moreso than— Cuz James Cordon had to learn— he went to cat school.
T: We all went to cat school. You have no idea. It’s like all my dreams came true on the set of this film. It was like—they literally— they’re like, “You can come to set as much as you want.” And I end up being there every day for four months. Just like— they’re all like, “Oh Taylor’s doing cat school again. Again. She’s still here. She’s still doing cat school.”
E: What did you learn? What was—
T: Well you crawl around on the floor and you pretend to be a cat.
E: Right. I bet you’re really a good cat.
T: I mean, I don’t— we’ll see. I really don’t know. I had the best— I had the most fun. I had the best time.
E: Um, alright so wait, there’s a new album coming out. Are you finished with the album yet?
T: Yeah, unless I like write something else. Then I’ll just like probably put it on the album.
E: Ok, and then you have another video coming out soon.
T: Ish, yeah.
E: When is it coming out?
T: I don’t know yet cuz we have to finish it first.
E: Mkay.
T: Yeah.
E: And then, I think you said you wanted me in it?
T: Yeah, I mean, that would be a dream.
E: Yeah.
T: Would you wanna do that?
E: Mmm, I don’t know but I, um, I’ll think about it. For sure.
T: Ok. Please do.
E: Yeah. Ok.
T: Great.
E: Yeah I’ll do it.
T: Cool.
E: Ok.
T: That’s great.
E: Alright. Um…alright. We have to take a break and then we’re gonna come back and she’s gonna talk all about her boyfriend. We’ll be back.

by limell 14:41 - 18:46

E: What I will do is I will read a question, and then you will answer the question, and then hit this for no apparent reason.
T: I love it.
E: It’s fun, right?
T: Yeah
E: Yeah. Like a game show but yet you win nothing.
T: Oh
E: What’s the title of your next single?
T: Oh, um, I can’t tell you that, that’s crazy
E: Oh, I was gonna try. Can you sing some of it?
T: Uh, no
E: Okay. Alright, if you can’t sleep in the middle of the night, what do you do?
T: I go down stairs and rummage thru the kitchen and eat whatever I can find. And it’s really less like a human being and more like a raccoon in a dumpster. Like, the next morning we just, we walk downstairs and, what it... what happened here? And I don’t remember.
E: Does that help you sleep, if you eat a whole lot and then...
T: It’s not really voluntary.
E: Oh, do you sleep eat?
T: I think so. I don’t really remember it but It... I know it happens because it could have only been me or cats.
E: Right. Well that wasn’t the question. We’re learning something different. I said, “If you can’t sleep at night what do you do?” But it sounds like...”
T: I’m still sleeping and doing it?
E: Yes, it sounds like you’ve got an issue.
T: Yep
E: Currently what is your favorite TV show?
T: Oh, God, um, okay, so “Killing Eve”, “Game of Thrones”, “Downton Abbey”, um, “Queer Eye”, I’ll just...I gotta stop now...I’m getting too excited.
E: Yeah... “Killing Eve is...””
T: Yes!
E: What is the most rebellious thing you did as a teenager?
T: Probably when I like put Joe Jonas on blast on your show. That was too much.
E: Was it?
T: Yeah. That was too much.
E: Okay.
T: I was eighteen. Yeah.. . We laugh about it now. But that was some mouthy...yeah...just teenage stuff there.
E: Wow, that’s held onto you because I don’t remember that at all. What is your favorite curse word?
T: Okay, you say your’s and we’ll say it together on one, two, three.
E & T: One, two, three
BEEP
E: It’s such a good solid one. Cause it can also mean like really good, like BEEP. Who did you share your first kiss with?
T: Um, it was my high school boyfriend when I was 15.
E: What was his name?
T: Drew.
E: Drew.
T: Yeah.
E: Ah. Did you leave a Easter egg during our interview?
T: Yes!
E: Really?
T: Yes! I’m not supposed to do it every word?
E: No.
T: Okay.
E: Your friend invites you to dinner, ah, what do you bring?
T: White wine
E: What kind?
T: Sanser (?) Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc
E: Good choices.
T: Thank you.
E: I just found a really good one, I’ll tell you about it.
T: Oh, thank you!
E: What’s your favorite holiday?
T: I think it’s Christmas. Definitely Christmas.
E: Okay, What’s your favorite place to go on holiday? Like cold, do you like snowing, do you like islands?
T: I’m sorting, I’m sorting...
E: Okay
T: Um
E: Sorry, staying quiet
T: Sorting... I think um Rhode Island.
E: Okay.
T: It’s a great state.
E: Uh, yeah
T: Yeah
E: What’s your favorite movie? That’s a tough one. How do you narrow it down to one?
T: You can’t, you can’t.
E: No, but just...
T: You can’t, I’d have to go with favorite movie I have seen in the last week.
E: Okay.
T: “Someone Great” on Netflix.
E: Oh, don’t know that one.
T: It’s a great movie.
E: Well, apparently.
T: Watch it.
E: Okay. Name three words to describe yourself.
T: Um, ah, curious, “cat-lover” make it one word?
E: Sure.
T: Um, romantic.
E: Yes, I would say creative, also.
T: That’s nice, thank you.
E: Yes, okay. Um, smart.
T: Thank you
E: I would add that, too.
T: You’re doing five though, that’s sweet.
E: Yes, because you deserve more than three. Okay, that’s oh, out of time. Go to my Spotify page to hear more of Taylor’s music. We’ll be back!
