The tarsier is a small animal. It grows to about twelve centimeters long. It has a tail that can be twenty centimeters long. It weighs only around one hundred and twenty grams. It eats small lizards, fish and insects. It looks for food at night. During the day, it sleeps in a high tree, safe from enemies.

The tarsier looks very strange. It is gray in color and has big brown eyes which help it to see in the dark. Its eyes are bigger than its brain. Its feet are almost as long as the body. It can jump almost three meters from one tree to another. It also has long fingers, which look like human fingers.

It lives only in Indonesia and Philippines. People there call it "hantu", which means "ghost". What a strange animal.

It's very useful stuff. You use it to put things together. You can use it to put two pieces of paper together, or to put wood or plastic together. If you want to use it with with wood or plastic, you need stronger stuff, but don't get it on your fingers.

It's the thing that wakes me up every morning. This thing makes a noise like Buzzz and then I reach over and turn it off. I don't like this thing.

Number 1. It's a kind of soft drink. You drink this stuff, usually in the morning. I usually have mine with milk and sugar.

Do you know how much time do you spend listening? It is estimated that half of our time is spent listening. Good listening is an essential part of active communication and makes us better managers, customers, coworkers, supervisors, parents and mates. Most of us aren't good listeners; however, listening is a skill that you can always improve.

1.Focus on the speaker and let them know you are listening by giving verbal cues such as, 'yes', ' I see' and non-verbal cues such as, nodding, leaning forward and smiling. Give the speaker your full attention

2.Make eye contact, look at the person you are speaking to or who is speaking to you. Looking in another direction or distracting glances appear as though you are not listening.

3.Avoid interrupting. It's rude and you cannot talk and listen at the same time. If you assume what people are going to say before they say it and then interrupt to respond to your assumptions, you will annoy the person you are talking with and you will miss the real message.

4.Ask questions and try to see the other person's point-of-view. Don't assume that you know what the person saying if things are not making sense for you. If you are unsure of the meaning ask for clarification and then if you are still not sure repeat it back to them.

5.Acknowledge the other person's feelings; make them feel like you understand and that it is okay to feel the way they do.

6.Be patient when you don't understand; getting upset won't solve any problems but will only create more.

7.Express your point-of-view and make a conscious choice about your response.

Plot

Raskolnikov, a mentally unstable drop-out student, chooses to live in a tiny, rented room in Saint Petersburg. He refuses all help, even from his friend Razumikhin, and devises a plan to murder and to rob an unpleasant elderly money-lender, Alyona Ivanovna. His motivation, whether personal or ideological, remains unclear. He soon sneaks into Alyona Ivanovna's apartment where he murders her with an axe; however, he is also forced to kill her half-sister, Lizaveta, who happens to enter the scene of the crime.

After the bungled murder, Raskolnikov falls into a feverish state. He behaves as though he wishes to betray himself, and the detective Porfiry begins to suspect him purely on psychological grounds. At the same time, a chaste relationship develops between Raskolnikov and Sonya—a prostitute full of Christian virtue, driven into the profession by the habits of her father—and Raskolnikov confesses his crime to her. The confession is overheard by Svidrigaïlov, a shadowy figure whose aim is to seduce Raskolnikov's sister, Dunya. Svidrigaïlov appears to have a hold over Raskolnikov, but after realizing that Dunya could never love him, he unexpectedly ends his own life. Raskolnikov eventually goes to the police himself to confess. He is sentenced to penal servitude in Siberia; Sonya follows him, and the Epilogue holds out hope for Raskolnikov's redemption and moral regeneration under her influence.

Once upon a time, there lived an old man who had a big lump on his cheek. Every time he chopped wood, his wen – which is what they call lumps like that – would jiggle up and down.
Chop, chop, Jiggle, jiggle. Chop, chop, Jiggle, jiggle.
It must have been quite a nuisance, but the old man was a happy-go-lucky fellow and didn’t seem to mind at all.
Now, it so happened that in the same village there lived another old man with a lump on his cheek. But this old man wasn’t so happy-go-lucky. In fact, he was always grumpy and irritable, and his wen seemed to bother him very much indeed.
Well, one day, as usual, the happy-go-lucky old man went into the mountain forest to chop wood. While he was chopping and jiggling and chopping, it began to sprinkle and then, suddenly, to rain very hard.
The old man found a big tree with a hollow trunk and dived inside it to take shelter. And before long he fell fast asleep.
Eventually the rain stopped, but even when evening fell and moon came out, the old man continued to snore.
Zzzzz...Phew! Zzzzz…Phew!
When he finally awoke it was after midnight and pitch dark. From somewhere nearby came the lively sound of music.
“Hmph? What’s that?”
Little did he know that the music was being made by demons who lived in the forest. You can imagine how stunned he was when he found them dancing in a circle and singing. He watched cautiously from behind a tree.
Twee, dada, boom-boom!
Twee, dada, boom-boom!
Red demons, blue demons, big demons, little demons, all of them laughing and dancing and singing and drinking. The atmosphere was so merry that before he knew it, the old man forgot his fear and began swaying his hips in time to the demon’s music. They seemed to be having such a wonderful time! Soon the old man, who had always loved to dance, was dancing along with them.
“Hey, La! Ooh, la! Hot-cha-cha!”
Oh my! The old man got so carried away that he forgot they were demons and danced right into the middle of the circle.

Psychotic major depression (PMD) is a type of depression that can include symptoms and treatments that are different from those of non-psychotic major depressive disorder (NPMD). PMD is estimated to affect about 0.4% of the population (or one in every 250 people). Many people with psychotic depression experience delusions, which are beliefs or feelings that are untrue or unsupported.

PMD is sometimes mistaken for NPMD, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders. Bipolar patients may experience PMD during depressed states. PMD is usually episodic, lasting for a defined amount of time, but in some cases can be chronic. PMD has unique biological features, which have led to innovative treatments. While PMD is often treated with a combination of antidepressants and antipsychotics, researchers have been developing new treatments that address the pathophysiology of PMD more directly.

Symptoms
Currently, PMD is considered a severe form of major depression, but patients with mild or moderate depression may still have psychotic features. Many people with PMD experience delusions, which are beliefs or feelings that are untrue or unsupported. Paranoid delusions or delusions of guilt may be the most common psychotic symptoms in PMD. Patients with PMD often have concerns that people are paying special attention to them or are trying to persecute them. Patients who experience delusional guilt may believe that they are being punished for past misdeeds or are responsible for problems they couldn’t possibly be responsible for.

Other common delusions include those in which people are concerned that something is terribly wrong with their bodies and physical health, when actually there isn’t anything wrong. Unlike other psychotic disorders, the delusions in PMD may not be very obvious. Delusions appear to be more common than hallucinations in PMD, but some people with PMD do hallucinate, or see or hear things that others do not. Auditory hallucinations (sounds) are perhaps the most common hallucinations seen in PMD. While other patients may report seeing, touching or smelling things that are not there, it is less common.

Other symptoms that are common in PMD are agitation, difficulty falling asleep, and frequent waking during the night. In addition, patients with PMD may have a greater suicide risk than patients with NPMD. Finally, those with PMD may have greater cognitive deficits (e.g., memory problems) than those with NPMD.

Course
The course of PMD may be helpful in distinguishing it from other disorders. Most PMD patients report having an initial episode between the ages of 20 and 40. Over a lifetime, it appears that PMD patients experience an average of 4 to 9 episodes. As with NPMD, the episodes of PMD tend to last for a certain amount of time and subside. While PMD can be chronic (lasting more than 2 years), most PMD episodes last less than 24 months. Unlike psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, patients with PMD generally function well between episodes, both socially and professionally.

History of treatments
Before electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) was invented in the 1930s, it was frequently observed that patients experiencing delusions with depression had poorer response to medication treatment. ECT seemed to have similar effects for depressed patients both with and without psychotic symptoms. The interest in psychotic depression increased after tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) became available, because while NPMD responded to TCAs, PMD did not. In the past 40 years there has been a renewed interest in PMD. The FDA is considering a special class of drugs for the treatment of PMD as researchers learn more about the biology of the disease.

Many studies have suggested that PMD differs from MDD in treatment response. PMD is less likely than MDD to respond to placebo and to the use of only an antidepressant or an antipsychotic. The combination of an antidepressant and an antipsychotic appears to be necessary for the treatment of PMD. Early studies suggest an 80-90% response rate in PMD with combination treatment.
