Hello, my name is Thiago and I live in Brazil. I was born in the city of Teresina, in the state of Piauí, a very humble place in the country, but very welcoming.
I am starting to learn English, I still have the basic level, however, in this almost one month of study, I have already achieved a visible improvement.
I started studying with the intention of using it in my studies. I do medicine, and many texts and articles are produced in English. Have you ever heard about a country in which the chickens fly into your mouth and candy grows on trees? And no one can say where the country exactly is.
This beautiful country is called the Land of Milk and Honey. Houses are covered with pancakes, there are doors made of gingerbread and walls made of roast pork. Each house has a fence that is made of sausages. From all wells sweet juice is flowing, orange juice or apple juice. Everybody who wants to drink just needs to keep his mouth under the well pipe and can drink as much as he wants.
On the trees there grow freshly baked rolls, and under the trees there are streams of milk and hot chocolate. Fish swim on the water. They are baked or boiled, and swim very close to the shore. But if you are too lazy to take them you call "Bst! Bst! "- and the fish come out of the water walking into your hand so that you only have to eat the fish.
Believe it or not - the geese, ducks and chickens, turkeys and pigeons are flying around in the air and they´re fried. And if you don´t want to reach out after one, it flies straight into your mouth.
Cheese is lying around like stones, large and small. The stones themselves are all burgers, fishburgers, hamburgers or cheeseburgers. It doesn´t rain water drops – no, it rains honey. You can lick and lick, it's a pleasure. And when it snows, it snows icing sugar, and when it hails, it hails sugar cubes, mixed with figs, raisins and almonds. There are also large forests. On the trees there grow beautiful blouses, T-shirts, skirts, coats, jeans and pants in all colours, black, green, yellow, blue and red. Everybody who needs new clothes, goes into the forest and throws them down with a stone.
On the grass grow beautiful ladies dresses of velvet and silk, the blades of grass are colourful ribbons.
On some bushes there are gold brooches and necklaces, and the berries are not black, but real pearls. On the fir trees hang wristwatches. On the oaks grow boots and shoes, summer and winter hats and all kinds of caps.
Every hour of sleep brings up a piece of silver there and yawning every time a piece of gold. But when you don´t sleep, you eat, drink, dance and play. Now you know how life is in the Land of Milk and Honey. There is a high wall around this country and if you want to go in or out you must eat yourself through this sweet and delicious wall.

The British drive on the left. The buses in London are red. There are single and double deckers. You can see a lot from a double decker. You musn't stand upstairs on a double decker. Most taxis are black.

Barber's pole. It is thought that the red and white stripes represent a bandages wound from the days when the town barber was also a surgeon.

You will find different post boxes in most towns and villages. There are wall post boxes, but the red pillar box is still a familiar sight on English streets. In the past, you could see the large red telephone boxes on every British street.

The British queue for everything. At British banks, shops, cinemas, theatres or bus stops you can always see people in queues. They stand in a line and wait quietly, often for a long time. Each new person stands at the end of the queue - sometimes in rain, wind or snow. Don't jump the queue! People don't like it.

Pubs are an important part of British life. Even very small villages always have a pub. People often go to the pub for a drink in the evenings and at the weekends. Many pubs serve food, especially at lunchtime. Every pub has a name and there is often a sign outside the pub. The sign shows the pub's name with a picture.

I used to be a changeling. Like the other changelings, I lived in darkness and secret for about 100 years until I became a human again - until I changed lives with Henry Day, a seven-year old child.
On a summer afternoo, Henry Day ran away from home and hid in a hollow tree. We kidnapped him and then I transformed myself to become exactly like him. I slipped into the hollow tree to change my life for his.
A group of firemen were looking for Henry. They were proud and happy to find me that night. They carried me out of the woods to a road where a fire truck was waiting and then took me home to Henry's parents, my new father and mother.
When we arrived, Henry's father took me in his arms. The mother had been crying. She took me with trembling hands and kissed me. Then she began laughing.
'Henry ? Henry ? let me look at you. Is it really you ?'
'I'm sorry mom'
She pulled me against her to kiss me again. She was so happy !
'Don't worry my little treasure. You're home and safe. You've come back to me !'
I took the handkerchief from Henry's pocket. Crumbs spilled to the floor.
'I'm sorry I stole the biscuit mom'.
She laughed. Maybe she had been wondering if I was indeed her child, but mentioning the biscuit did the trick. Henry had stolen one from the table when he ran away from home. The crumbs proved that I was hers.

Hi! I’m Monica, and I’m 19 years old. I live in the capital of England, London and I love my city! I live in a big flat in Notting Hill, with my parents, my brother Sam, and my cat.
There are many places to visit here , so I never get bored. I love listening to music, on my MP3 player, and I often attend concerts. Next to my flat, there is a theatre where I go, on Saturday evenings, with my friend Sally. There are also a Bus station, a train station, and lots of taxis, so I can go to my university, without any problem. Do you know that in London, taxis are black, and buses are red?

In London, there are a lot of shops but there are also lots of parks. Hyde Park, is the biggest in the city centre, and the most famous.
You can also visit the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Tate Modern Museum, The National Gallery, Sherlock Holmes Museum, and many mores. They are amazing!
