Note to recorder:

I will use your recording to teach my fifth graders. So could you please read the vocabulary lesson clearly and slowly so that my students can easily repeat after you? Please pay special attention to final sounds. Thank you!

For example: festival (festivals): I like to play any big festivals.

Please read individual words twice, have short pauses (about three seconds) among them, and two times (slow then natural speed) for example sentences. I mean:

festival [short pause] festival [short pause] festivals [short pause] festivals [short pause]: I like to play any big festivals. [short pause] I like to play any big festivals. [short pause]

* In case the forms of past simple and past participle for regular verbs are the same, please repeat them twice. For instance, clap (claps, clapping, clapped, clapped). You just need to repeat the form “clapped” twice, not four.

Unit 4: We had a concert - Lesson 6

park (parks): There was a festival in the park last month.
house (houses)
trumpet (trumpets)
singing: From my house you could hear drums, trumpets, and singing.
a lot of = lots of: There were lots of people there.
band (bands): I went with my friends. We saw a band playing.
weekend
child (children)
parent (parents): It’s the weekend and these children are going to the park with their parents.
car (cars): They usually go by car.
love (doing something): My dad loves going to football games.
during
trip (trips)
listen to music (listens to music)
sing (sings, singing, sang, sung): They love listening to music and singing during the trip.
lesson (lessons)
every
Tuesday
after school: Nga has her piano lessons every Tuesday after school.
practise/practice (practises/practices, practising/practicing, practised/practiced, practised/practiced): She usually practices after she has her dinner.
cousin (cousins): These three cousins can all play the recorder. They all have lessons at school.
well (better, best): They play very well.
be proud of… (prouder, proudest): Often they play for their parents, and last month they played in a school concert. Their parents are very proud of them.

Hi swansong,

It is really difficult to remember your instructions for repeating the words while reading them. But it is quite easy to just read what is written. For future recordings, could you write the text exactly as you would like it to be read?

I will follow your advice. Thank you very much!
