Natural speed please :) Thanks in advance!
Hello all. this is my first original book, it's about crime and morals.
A little background- The Onion Router (TOR) was made to give you anonymity online. If you want to try it out, just google TOR, the first few links will point you in the right direction.
Now I am in no way trying to glorify it's current use, but I strongly agree with Internet Anonymity. NSA should not be spying on us. Unfortunately being Anonymous means that it can be abused. Therefore TOR has become a haven for Drug trade, criminal communications and Child pornography. I do not in any way agree with it. The websites that promote these activities are part of The Dark Web.
How you become Anonymous is like this: Imagine you went on Google. Normally your router would communicate with the Google severs directly, so if you searched Wattpad for example, your router would put a request and the server will send the information back to your router. Now when you send a request you leave an IP address, this is what identifies you. Every single Internet router has a unique IP address.
However with TOR, your router does something different. It does not put in a request directly, but rather it asks another router, which in turn asks another router. The request is bounced around across the globe. Then the request is put on the Google servers. So Google have no idea who really requested the information because the request is bounced around so many times. Therefore they can't trace it back to your IP address, thus making you Anonymous.
I hope that made sense, if it didn't Wikipedia is the place to go.
Anyway, back to the story. I hope you like it. It will not be completely focused on TOR.
Rather the main character Liam, will be involved in the crimes himself. I don't want to give to much away but don't just expect him to stay in safety throughout the book, rather expect him to be hunted by the police and criminals alike.
Also I will be writing the story from 3 perspectives, so keep an eye out for who's narrating in the chapter title.
There will be no R-rated content at all but at times there will be severe violence and a lot of vulgar and offensive language. Since there will be no nudity or self-harming etc... I don't think this book should be rated Mature.
