For the most part, you have a wonderful grasp of the proper use of "put up"! Most of your sentences sound very natural.

I made changes based on the following.
Native speakers OFTEN say this incorrectly, but it is grammatically incorrect to end a sentence with a preposition (i.e. up). Your meaning would be clear, BUT it can often make a sentence sound very unclear. So, I put the word "up" in its proper place. :)

put up prices - to set a higher price, one would say "we had to RAISE prices".

"putting up prices" - (for example, if one were in a coffee shop) -
"Will you please put up your prices on the wall, so we can figure out what we want to order while we are waiting in line?"
"We always put up the sale prices the night before, so that customers will see them clearly when they are shopping on the day of the sale."

put up a candidate - This sounds very unnatural to me. I would never say it this way, myself.

Super job!!!
