'Two policemen came after the burglary. They asked us a lot of questions. They wanted to know if there were any windows open that night. Then, they asked us to make a list of all the things missing. They wondered if we had heard any noise at all during the night.' 'And had you?' 'No, I told them that nobody had heard a sound. They looked around the house, and then, in the garden.
