Hi, this text is intended to be used by post A-level students in hospitality. I woul like it to be read at natural speed by a male British or American accent speaker. Thanks!

The hospitality industry – where it all started!
If you generally ask any professional who works in the hospitality industry what are the most important things they have learnt, you will hear that they have learned about service quality and guests. You will also hear that it’s a great place to learn about leadership. And I would also say about life.
During a family vacation to Europe, I stayed in a hotel where I discovered a new world – ‘the world of luxurious hotels’. Right from the main porch, to the lobby and to my room, the ambience was incredible. The amazing feeling was not just about the hotel, but also the way the staff treated me and my family and made me feel welcome and special. In fact, I was so much in love with the hotel and the service, that being associated with the hotel industry became my dream.
I was 18 when I entered the hotel school in my city. I learned more about hospitality and how hotels function and that reinforced the passion I had for this industry.
Then, the job search started. I knocked on the doors of many hotels in the city and finally a renowned hotel chain offered me a steward job. My journey started in the kitchen of the hotel where most of the time I heard chefs and supervisors yelling at me to deliver the best service to the restaurant guests. It was a good learning experience where my focus was hard work and teamwork. Well, soon after that, my hard work was recognized and I was promoted to the next level and was titled Captain and in the next few months I moved to another level where I became the Supervisor…aahh! I was loving this as I could see myself grow in this industry – my dream industry!
After some time, I decided to explore the world of hotels across the globe and moved to Europe. I joined a hospitality course to strenghten my expertise and worked a part-time job to earn my living. This course, job, traveling in Europe, exploring the best hotels gave me all the more reasons to deeply fall in love with the hospitality industry. This experience helped me develop my leadership skills.
Well, now I am a full-time professional working for one of the leading hotel chains in the world – InterContinental Hotels and Resorts! After a round tour of different departments of the hotel I decided to move to the back of the house as a Trainer. I like talking to new people and introducing them to the hotel while they come onboard. I share my experience with the new colleagues and try my best to showcase my passion for hotels.
