Note to recorder:

I don't know how to pronounce 'sixths' clearly.

Five sixths of the students have passed the exam.

When speaking at normal speed, the 'x' sound and the 'ths' sound are kind of blended together. However, I emphasized the 'ths' sound after the sentence.

Thanks a lot. It's been bothering me for a long time.

'Sixth' is ok, but 'sixths' is a bit of a tongue twister, even for a native speaker. You can avoid it by saying 'five out of six students...'.
I think BBC newsreaders would use this version to avoid stumbling over their words.

I swear I'd just say "5 out of 6". I can't say 'sixths' to save my life, and I've lived in America my entire life.
