January 18, 1912. Captain Scott and his team, Evan, Wilson, Bowers and Oats reach the south pole. But they fail in their goal of being the first ones. Admundsen's Norwegian flag already flutters over the zero latitude point. Exhausted and defeated, they begin the return.
February 16. Five Englishmen are crossing the blue desert. Evans, the last one in the row, has Death hanging on his backpack. She's willing to show him that once you die, this place is very comfortable.
There wasn't a headstone, but there was some talk. Good save the Queen! Eternal glory to the Antarctic heroes.
March, 6. Oates can't stand it anymore. His feet are like two crystal knives. And after crawling for some time, his hands begin to tremble too. But no one wants to leave him behind. That night, while they sleep, he attends his meeting with Eternity.
There wasn't a headstone, but there was some talk. Good save the Queen! Eternal glory to the Antarctic heroes.
March, 30. Here ends the diary of Bowers, Wilson and Scott. We hope the help that didn't reach us goes to our children, our widows.
There wasn't a headstone. There wasn't any talk. There was no God, there was no queen, there was no glory. Only eternal snow in the Antarctic.
Who remembers Captain Scott, Evan, Wilson, Bowers and Oates?
