Carlitos6699 English sentences 01
Some examples are clearly British, which I am not. I hope you’re not disappointed. :)

an hour’s hiking (changed to ‘hike’, which is more usual idiomatic American English)

knocked off (British English. American ‘took off’)

in arrears (use the preposition)

$3,600 (often read as ‘three thousand six hundred dollars’ or as ‘thirty-six hundred dollars’. I read it the first way for you. American usage prefers a comma between the hundreds and thousands.)

pot luck (Only the third example corresponds to American usage. The first two?)

shilly-shallying (British? Americans would say ‘dilly-dallying’)

chugger (British?)

biscuit (Definitely British. In the U.S. and Canada, they are called ‘cookies’, a ‘biscuit’ is a different food.)

His proposal

its own award show (The sentence needed the contrasting ‘own’ to make the meaning clear.)

Thanks a lot for your feedback. You're right: most of those sentences came from the Cambridge Dictionary. As for your american accent, it's okay! That is waht I looking for. Thanks again! Take care!
