　人口が増えるし、建物が古いし、それに人々の意識が未だ低いので。ホーチミン市は環境汚染の問題に遭っています。ハノイと同じで下水を処理しないで、河川に流しています。
　多くの生産施設では下水を処理しません、ほとんどの大きな病院や医療施設では下水処理システムがありません。この問題は未だ解決していません。
ホーチミン市の一日のごみの量は６０００トンにもなっています。その中の一部の燃えないごみは未だに集めていません。大気汚染の原因は乗り物や生産活動などです。郊外の地域では土壌汚染もあります。原因は農薬をたくさん使っているためです。
