Note to recorder:

Brazilian accent would be most appreciated! :) Many thanks!

Se eu tivesse um carro
havia de conhecer
toda a terra.
Se eu tivesse um barco
havia de conhecer
todo o mar.
Se eu tivesse um avião
havia de conhecer
todo o céu.
Tens duas pernas
e ainda não conheces
a gente da tua rua.

In Brazilian portuguese, in a simple way, we say that phrases have a direct order that is subject+verb+complements+adverbs (adverbial locutions). When the elements of the phrase aren't in this order whe say that it is in the indirect order. In these cases, we need sometimes to separate the elements using a comma. Most of the phrases of the text you posted are in the indirect order. So we need to use some commas. The part "Se eu tivesse um carro" is an adverbial locution that indicates condition and it is a long locution (more than 3 words for some grammar authors). When it is not in the correct order you put a comma when it finishes. This applies to other phrases of the text. Well, I know that Brazilian portuguese grammar is not easy, but a lot of Brazilians don't know it very well too, so don't worry too much about it. I hope you like the recording and the comment and that you keep learning this incredibly beatiful language. :)

Dear Raphael, many-many thanks for the recording and for the explanation! It's really motivating at these early stages of my learning, I'll definitely go on - your language is beautiful, indeed! :)
