アブバクル・カファリ・シャシはイスラム教のイマムの一人であり、有名な学者であり、コーランやハディースの専門家でした。歴史的な記録によると彼は10世紀にシャシで説教し、死後は中世都市の北部に埋葬された。タシケントのイスラム教徒の学者・イマムに対しての尊敬のため、1541- 1542年シャイボニー治世にカファリ・シャシの墓の上に高いドーム型の廟が建立されたのである。建築家はグリャム・フサインである。建築物の飾りつけのエナメル・レンガと16世紀のマジョリカが現在まで残っている。
