Natural speed but not too fast please (this is for year 7 (6th grade) students. You can be a little theatrical to help them understand better, if you don't mind.
On a hill, there is a wood.
In the wood, there is a really big tree.
Under the tree, there is a hole.
In the hole live Mr Fox and Mrs Fox and their four small foxes.
Every evening, when it's dark, Mr Fox asks Mrs Fox : “Well, my darling, what do you want to eat ? A plump chicken from Boggis ? A duck or a goose from Bunce ? Or a turkey from Bean ?”
And when Mrs Fox tells what she wants, Mr Fox goes to the vallley, at night, and steals food.
Boggis and Bunce and Bean know very well what Mr Fox does, and they are really angry. And they are really stubborn. They don't like when the fox steals food. So every night, the farmers take a shotgun and hide in a dark place to catch the robber.
But Mr Fox is extremely clever. He always changes direction when he smells the farmers.
“ We must kill the fox !” cries Bean.
“ But how?” says Boggis. “How can we catch the fox?”
“I have a plan.” Bean answers. “Tomorrow night, we can hide outside the hole where the fox lives. And when he comes out... Bang! Bang-bang-bang-bang!”
“Very clever”, says Bunce, “But first, we must find the hole.”
“My dear Bunce, I know where it is” says Bean. “It's in the wood on the hill. It's under a really big tree...”
