I have done a ton of different jobs as a teenager. My first job was quite simple, at the age of 12, I became a dog walker for neighbours and I was also their pet sitter when they went on holiday.
After that, at the age of 14, I started working as a paper boy. For a year, I delivered newspapers in the neighbourhood every morning. On top of that, during the week-ends, I was a baby-sitter.
Next, I got a job in a restaurant. I started as a dishwasher and then, I became a waiter.
I worked briefly as a cashier at the supermarket but honestly, it was very boring, so I found a position I enjoyed more : I became a barista in a famous coffee chain.
None of these jobs have anything to do with what I wanted to do at the time, but I enjoyed earning my own money. On top of that, not only did these jobs give me job experience, which looks great on my resumé, but they also taught me to be responsible, patient and adaptable. If I had to, I would do it all over again.
